Principal’s Letter Sept 2017

New LEAPS logo Dear Parents,
I am pleased to have begun the school year 2017-18 at New L.E.A.P.S. Academy, with great enthusiasm. Our students have accommodated well to the new school environment. I truly admire the skills of these students, the joy they bring to our school, and the amazing capabilities they display every day. Each student challenges me daily, with their brightening smile, their presence makes my day worth spent and make a difference in the student.
As a passionate educator and a parent, I would ask all parents to capitalize on the strengths of your child/children, help them by spending more time with them, make cherished memories, and believe in their abilities. Please spend at least 20 minutes reading with your child aloud.
All new students have been assessed based on Brigance developmental and academic assessment, and we will meet soon to discuss their present level and interventions. Please be aware that students can be dropped off free of charge after 7:45 a.m. and should be picked up by 2:15 p.m. Also, please communicate with your child’s teacher on everyday issues and academic needs, so we could help the child better. I believe that it is important to see progress in every student, based on their capabilities. It is our responsibility as educators, parents, caregivers to provide a nurturing environment to all students.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, kindly contact me by email or 813-973-7938. Kindly follow us on Facebook, both New Leaps academy, and Hailey Family Services.
Please know that your child/children have a different ability, and not a disability. Together let us grow L.E.A.P.S. and bounds.
I am so blessed to be serving your child/children and you.
With much pride and dedication,

Pearlyn Rajamanickam
